I received word a few days ago from Crackberry.com and BerryReview.com posts that Sprint would soon be unveiling a free conditional call forwarding service around the 12th of this month. Boy, were they right.
I called Sprint to ask the question of whether or not free conditional call forwarding had been enabled. The CSR responded that it it indeed is free. Keep in mind that "free" applies to conditional call forwarding.
Conditional call forwarding would be dialing *28<10-digit phone # to forward to here>. What this conditional call forwarding would be useful for is forwarding to a 3rd-party phone service such as Google voice or YouMail. Normally, you'd be getting charged 20 or 40 cents/min to use this feature - so if somebody was leaving a long voicemail, you're pockets would be drained by the time they hung up the phone.
If you're a Sprint customer and are a little skeptical of this deal, call them to confirm it with a CSR like I did. If you're not a Sprint customer, sorry...
