Still a Humble, Sick Genius on Drums: Marco Minnemann

Over 5 or so years ago, I had a chance to meet Marco Minnemann. In case you don't know him, he's a world-famous drummer from Germany and is a "DW" drummer. He tends to lean towards playing more progressive/modern odd-time signature patterns on his drums. Cool thing about Marco is that he explains everything and takes time to answer any questions.

I tuned this guy's drums (at the time I was probably 18 or 19 years old) and I was nervous as hell. After having the drums scattered all over the stage at Huber Breese Music Studio, I then mounted the Toms on the stands. I said to Marco, "what do you think of the sound?".. He tapped the drums a couple times and said "They sound Great" .. and then he played a SICK Hell-of-a show.

After the show finished, I told him that he was the greatest drummer I had ever seen and that his stamina is Crazy! He was like "no way, I appreciate that but, thank you.". He was too humble. I told him again, "Seriously, man. You are." He said thanks and shook my hand and proceeded to explain the stick and finger strength techniques to me, 1-on-1.

Ebay Hit That One Right on the Nose

If you're a member on EBay.com, you probably have received emails from them stating something like... "We think you'll like . . ." And they proceed to list a bunch of items that are, supposedly, in the same category or liking of something you've bought in the past on EBay.
Yesterday, I bought an External Dial up modem for my parents computer. Today I get an automated email from them saying, "We think you'll like..." :

1.) Verizon Cell Phones - Smart phones and PDA's.

If Only I were a Verizon Member if only they treated their customers with respect.

2.) Nikon D40 Digital Cameras and Accessories

At this point, I figured EBay had already given up on guessing what I actually like. I figured they were thinking "Hell, everybody has or wants a digital camera..they'll all buy this".

3.) Ed Hard Clothing & Accessories.

WTF?

4.) Apple iPOD Touch & Accessories.

Never purchased an iPod and I will never throw my money away on one. Good luck getting an iPod repaired or replacing the battery without spending a limb. I prefer cheaper alternatives. It doesn't take much to play an MP3. Not Linking to their site :)

5.) Nintendo Wii Fit ..

Again, I have nothing related to this product. I haven't had a video console in YEARS! I won't link to their site either ;)

6.) Everything Xbox 360

I don't support Microsoft.

Hilarious Auto Tune-Post

First off, if you don't know what Antares Auto-Tune is, it's a plugin that is available for most recording software on your computer. The plugin allows a not-so-perfect (in pitch) vocalist, to tweak the "notes" and put them back in tune.

As I've done posts on Auto-Tune in the past, I came across another hilarious YouTube video that features it. The post I did a few months back demonstrated how hip/hop Artist, T-Pain sounded without his precious Auto-Tune plugin.

Well, now we have a sound engineer who has taken the daily news and put the Auto-Tune to it! This is pretty funny stuff, especially when Katie Couric is harmonizing with the Author.

Richard Stallman on the Alex Jones Show.

Richard Stallman was a call-in guest on the Alex Jones Show on Monday, 5-18-2009. This is a great Interview. The interview is 4 segments, and I've posted part 2. In Part 2, Richard gets into "Cloud Computing", and how he really doesn't believe that we should store all our data on Servers.

Think about what he's saying. When I think about how cheap hard drive space is, why in the heck am I storing EVERYTHING online? It's because it's becoming too easy to store data online. Well, data is no longer your property when it's not on your computer. REMEMBER That!

Great. Now the Government Brags About Taking Your Money.

As you were just beginning to think that the Law Enforcement in this country is for your own good, Big Brother jokes about taking more of your money - on Myspace. (being a bit sarcastic).

I'm logging into Myspace and I'm now realizing more and more each day that the propaganda is becoming more and more unbearable. There is a 3-frame animation Ad pretty much saying, "If you have 65 bucks in your pocket and you're wearing your seatbelt, we won't take it from you"..more like.."we won't take it, but we'll make up another story and bust you for that.". How about, instead of stealing money from us, throw the real criminals in Jail!

I'm glad we can all feel safer that the non-seatbelt-wearing thugs are being punished. You can disagree with me and that's fine. As long as you have true faith in your government ; They've never failed you, right?
